Paul has been working in the field of addiction for over 30 years in various parts of the world. He has a Licenciatura en Psicologia in Spain, BSc Honours in Psychology in the UK and studies in addiction and co-occurring disorders, Focus on Integrated Treatment (FIT) with Hazelden and Columbia University Psychiatry in the USA.

As Treatment Director and Clinical Manager, Paul has developed and installed treatment programs for residential facilities in Asia and Europe and has a private practice that takes him to visit guests around the world.

He enjoys the challenge of working with people of different cultures. He speaks Spanish, Bahasa Indonesia and a little French.

The simple questions of “Who do I want to be and how do I want to live?” are where transformation begins.

The culmination of decades of experience, learning and research has led to the creation of his trademarked Zero Protocol™ program for compulsive behaviours and addictions. Drawing on published research and writings by his teachers Dr. Joe Dispenza and Dr. Melanie Salmon, he has woven together existing treatment models with recent scientific research into human potential for change. He is currently associated with The Kusnacht Practice.

Yatina Maulida Syam

Originally from Indonesia, Yatina has spent most of her adult life in Europe. She has over 10 years of experience in the field of mental health as a liaison person in centers in Bali and Spain.

She has also worked as personal assistant to a leading clinician treating clients in Pakistan and Dubai. At (Thera) she brings a sophisticated and charming softness to the team as Executive Concierge. Her role is to help clients and their families navigate the practicalities of their treatment so they feel safe and they know their needs will be taken care of promptly and without fuss.

Dr. Putu Belly Sutrisna, PhD

Dr Putu Belly Sutrisna is a leading young psychiatrist on an emerging wave of Balinese physicians who combine their clinical practice with Eastern healing modalities. Studying his degrees in medicine and psychiatry at the prestigious Udayana University in Bali, he has continued his development with groundbreaking research into screen addictions and the positive effect of stress regulation techniques, such as yoga, on his patients.

While gaining scientific data for his PHD thesis, he has been painstaking in developing and refining effective new techniques to collect reliable evidence, such as IAT’s (Internet Addiction Tests). To support this research, he has just achieved a degree in Information Systems at ITB STIKOM, Bali.

Dr Putu has pioneered research into the positive effects of both a stable family life and the practice of yoga on cases of Internet addiction. He currently practices at two leading hospitals in Denpasar, as well as his own private practice. He is a regular speaker and attendee at addiction conferences in Indonesia and Europe, and is a member of the Indonesian Doctor Association, the Indonesian Psychiatrist Association and the Indonesian Hypnosis Community Association, We are proud to welcome Dr Putu to our team of collaborating physicians and clinicians as his compassion-based methods are a perfect fit to support our ‘Zero Protocol’ treatment approach.

Dr. Diah Fridari, PhD

Diah Fridari received her doctorate in Transpersonal Psychology from The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, California, USA. She has been teaching as a lecturer, since 2008, in the Psychology Department at Udayana University. Her education and research interests are in Energy Psychology and Transpersonal Psychology, as well she is a licensed psychologist in Indonesia. Diah practices a spiritual energy work from Japan, and she is trained in the Quantum Healing technique. She is qualified in using past life regression therapy as part of a transpersonal approach for counseling and healing, and aspires to help people awaken to their true nature so that they may find peace, love and happiness.

Dr. Thomas A. Budd, PhD

Thomas A. Budd (Balinese name: Devithan) is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. He received his PhD in Transpersonal Psychology from The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, California, United States. He specializes in Transpersonal Education and Research, and is a holistic counselor. He believes in addressing the spiritual, astral, and physical influences of health; and how people can live with greater happiness, harmony, and prosperity. He practices and teaches meditation, astrology, and a spiritual energy work from Japan.

Jon Win Lee, CTM

Jon Win Lee was born into Chinese Family in Indonesia. Even as a child he developed great interest in Chinese Philosophy and Wisdom. He has consistently built on this interest in his studies and career as a physician, healer and martial-arts instructor using a wide range of Chinese modalities to create harmony and balance in the lives of his patients. He qualified as a Doctor of Chinese Traditional Medicine (CTM) and acupuncture at Chengdu University in China.

He has since studied in medical Qi Gong (ancient martial arts) as well as gaining certification in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in UK, emotional focused therapy (EFT), multiple trauma release therapy as well as becoming a qualified hypnotherapy trainer.

Guru Made Sumantra

Guru Made Sumantra is a traditional Balinese healer who has more than 20 years’ experience working as a healer and teacher of ancient Balinese Yoga. He has travelled the world as a guest teacher, lecturer and senior international provider pf complementary traditional health services.

Guru Made works with all age groups using a wide range of modalities including sound healing, yoga, breath work and meditation.

He is a loved and respected member of the Thera consulting team, and his work dovetails perfectly into the underlying principles of Zero Protocol.

Gusti Ayu Abdi Asrini Ch, Cht, Cmhh, Cihh

Ibu Ayu practices hypnosis to support other Zero Protocol modalities working with the subconscious mind to clear trauma, harmful habits and self-limiting beliefs. She brings deep compassion and a loving presence to the Thera team and our guests. Her modalities include hypnosis, energy healing, and massage, all of which she blends to help others overcome self-defeating limitations and fearful beliefs. She is a powerful force in the healing world of Bali.

Yunita Senjaya

Yunita a leading Indonesian acupuncturist. She has been practicing in Bali since January 2003.

Born and raised in Samarinda Borneo, her family encouraged her from an early age to study Traditional Chinese Medicine. Wanting to study from the very best tradition of teachers, she bravely left Indonesia aged 19 to study in Xiamen in China. She had to learn Mandarin to understand her teachers and fellow students and became fluent during her studies from 1997 to 2002, when she finally came to Bali to set up her own practice.

Yunita enjoys working on the Zero Protocol program as she forms part of a skilled multidisciplinary clinical team and is excited by our approach to the sciences and healing of energy as a way to approach mental well-being.

Dr Manuel Rodríguez de la Torre

Dr Rodriguez attended Medical School in his hometown, Málaga, moving to Madrid to complete the four-year residency in Psychiatry at the José Germain Psychiatric Institute. During the last three months of his residency, he carried out a New York Psychiatric Institute rotation. One of his areas of interest has been psychotherapy, especially psychological trauma and recovery. His training includes EMDR, hypnotherapy, psychodrama, relational psychoanalysis, group therapy and strategic therapy. He is also trained in legal psychiatry, mood disorders, addiction and TMS. Putu Sukiyadnya

Suki is a vital part of our hospitality and client-experience team. Born and raised in Bali, he not only provides delicious, nourishing food for the client, but also a link to the colorful and vibrant village life of the area. His kind and compassionate nature and his attentive care for the client’s needs and tastes, makes him a quiet but supportive force in the daily experience of our programs. Putu studied at the University School of Tourism in Bali and had 10 years of experience designing menus as chef in a wide range of high-profile restaurants, hotels, and villas throughout Bali before joining our team. His expertise in combining client’s tastes with our consultants’ nutritional recommendations allows him to create meals which reflect a fusion of both western and local Asian recipes.

Ni Wayan Apring Gaya (Aping)

Aping is the quiet, steady energy behind guest services provided by our Indonesian team. She is skilled and enthusiastic in supporting the needs of Thera staff and guests alike. Wherever there is a need, Aping is there. An active member of the local Balinese village community she bridges the gaps between Thera and Bali, seamlessly blending the West and the East.
